The 10th anniversary revised edition of Chase the Dark is here! When I started revisions for the new edition, I had no idea how far I would go with updating, elevating, and expanding on the story. It’s still the same plot and same characters, but it’s also kind of a whole new book. I really love how it turned out, and I can’t wait to hear what you think.

Piper wants one thing in life: to become a Consul, a keeper of the peace between humans and daemons. There are three obstacles in her way.

The third is the Sahar Stone. A legendary artifact with the potential to unleash untold destruction. It was under her father’s protection until thieves attacked their Consulate, went on a murder spree, and abducted her father.
But no one realizes that her father doesn’t have the stone. Piper does.
Now she’s on the run with every daemon in the city hunting for the Stone—and for her. She has to keep the artifact a secret while trying to save her father, and there are only two daemons willing to help her. See problems one and two.

If you haven’t read Steel & Stone yet or are planning to do a re-read, my new recommended reading order is to start with the Spell Weaver trilogy. With all of the revisions, starting with Spell Weaver will make for a more complete reading experience. Spell Weaver is available on KU or you can get all three books for $6.50 USD here.
To prepare for the 10th anniversary editions, the old versions of Steel & Stone are no longer available on Amazon/KU. Over the next year, I will be releasing the revised editions of the rest of the series as I finish each book, so you won’t have to wait until the second special edition Kickstarter next fall. For audiobook readers, Melissa Moran and Tim Paige, the new male narrator, will start recording the updated audiobooks at the beginning of 2025!
Campaign Updates
If you collect special editions, the Kickstarter for the 10th Anniversary Special Edition Hardcovers is ending in about 72 hours! These 10th anniversary editions of the Spell Weaver trilogy and Chase the Dark have all of the shinies, so be sure to back the campaign before it ends on Friday November 15, 11:59 MST (November 16, 6:59AM GMT).
Thanks to all of the support on the campaign, we’ve also unlocked a bunch of awesome stretch goals: a Zwi enamel pin (NEW!), a set of Zwi stickers, washi tape, bookmark and title page upgrades, and illustrated endpapers! All book sets and bookish goodies bundles will automatically come with all physical items. Here’s one endpaper concept we’re working on. Can you guess what scene and book this is from?
We’re really close to hitting our next goal: fully illustrated edges! This will be unlocked when we hit 1000 copies of each book, and we’re less than 60 copies away. Each book edge will feature a unique landscape in the series, and putting them together creates a continuous illustration across all eight 10th Anniversary books.
